Every corner of Chania has grace but there are some parts that must be undoubtedly expedite them.
Some of them, the Chania Archeological Museum and Kanevaro Street Historic District, both in Chania, speak to the broad diversity of our landmarks and historic sites. Among our variety of museums, the Light House in Old Town of Chania is one of the symbol of the town & the most photographed buildings in Greece. Near to the port of Souda is the Itzedin castle, which has been classified as a historical monument, built in 1872 by Pasha Reouf in the same position in 1646, the first Turkish expelling the Venetians built a tower. It was the most important defensive work of the port and named in honor of the eldest son of Sultan Abdul Aziz Itzedin.
The Ancient Aptera as a major city - state of Chania often played a decisive role in the historical events of Crete, in the internal and foreign policy. However, the period during which the Aptera met his heyday was the early Hellenistic period. The city life Aptera continued uninterruptedly until the Arab conquest times, when it was destroyed and abandoned. Palekastro or " Aptera Koules " exemplifying fortress architecture of the 19th century . Located near Ancient Aptera at Apokoronas Region and has been built by the Turks in response to the revolution of 1866 . The ancestral museum-home of seven times Prime Minister Elefterios Venizelos is just one of the many historic buildings and homes in the lovely Mournies Village at Chania. The first political movement of Cretans following the Revolution of 1821 already took place in September 1833, when several thousand unarmed Christians gathered in the village of Mournies near Chania, to protest against the fiscal measures and other abuses of Mustafa Pasha.
In Kissamos Region visit the site of ancient Falassarna located at the western end of Gramvousa cape on the west coast of Crete. Falasarna was one of the major ports of Crete, mainly flourished in the 4th and 3rd centuries B.C. and the origin of the name given to the bride and local Puget heroine.

Ancient Polyrinia was located in the area where there is the village of Polyrinia of Kissamos today, 6 km south of Kastelli Kissamos where its harbor used to be. It is called Polyrinia because it had "polla rinia" (a lot of sheep.)
On the western side of the White Mountains, in the Selino region of Chania is unique in beauty and vegetation gorge of Agia Irini.
Sougia is a coastal village in southwest Crete. Administratively attached to the Selino region. In ancient times, the position of Sougia was known as Syia in and was one of the harbors’ of the city of Elyros. The multitude of small, independent city-states is illustrated by the Confederation of Oreii, an accord formed around 300 BC between Elyros, Lissos, Irtakina, Tarra, Syia and Pikilassos, six towns in a now barely populated area of the Southwest.The Syia destroyed in the 9th century by the Saracens. There are some ruins of Roman houses in the eastern part of the valley as well as the remains of an aqueduct. It was probably no more than a fishing settlement for the villages up in the hills (Livadas, Koustogerako and Moni).
Frangokastello lies in Sfakia region of Crete 13 km east of Sfakia. It is a sight of the many has to offer Crete and certainly excites the traveler.
